Why do we need negotiators?

How on earth do you be vigilant against vans travelling at high speed on the bloody pavement? How do you be vigilant when someone comes at you out of nowhere with a hatchet or a kitchen knife? How exactly do you prepare yourself for a terrorist attack in central London, or any large city then?
Dunno. I don't live in one. I guess you just need to be prepared to run or do what is necessary once the schitt hits. Or if you are medically skilled, do what you can to help the victims. I think his comments appealed to those with a brain. RWR need not apply.

The duty of M.P.s and the Government is to do what they consider best for the Country.
Correct. So we have a paradox. A bit like when a doctor is trying to save the life of someone who refuses treatment for whatever reason. His Hippocratic oath v's their rights to their body.

What is the solution? Who has the loudest voice?

To put it another way -

Roger's MP may take note of his views - but then decide that he is a bit of a plonker so not go along with them.

Doesn't he live in Northern Ireland where they voted to remain?

That would depend on whether decisions have been made where the patient's rights are deemed to overrule the doctor's oath.

This is not the case with MPs.

Quite so.
Do they do what is in the best interests of the country?
Or..

Do they do what is in the best interests of those that turned out to vote for Brexit?
How many people did vote to take us out of the EU? Was it a nationwide majority of those eligible to vote? If not, then I guess the MP's have a valid point.

I think you are misdefining 'best interest'.
Is their, the country's, best interest to be happy that their voting mattered but poorer (I know they will disagree), or
to be pіssed off but prosperous?

It was not - so I don't understand what you mean.

I did not actually state a definition. However, what do you think you mean when you say....
The duty of M.P.s and the Government is to do what they consider best for the Country.

Too much ambiguity for me on a Sunday, I'm afraid.

It is to do what they think is best for the country - despite what anyone else thinks or votes for.

That is, to make up their own minds.

As most wished to remain (before the referendum) we can assume that is still the case therefore no parliamentary vote to leave should succeed.
They cannot (or should not) have changed their minds just because someone else has voted to the contrary.
Those who profess to have changed their minds because of the vote must be acting against their conscience.

But why should we have to spend our lives in fear of the next attack, constantly on the look out, which affects the whole community when the solution is so straight forward and impacts on a much smaller section of the community

oh god, Adolfbrand wants to invade Ukraine again, now.
