Having a dormer installed and want to check spec of existing roof tiles to see if they can be hung on the side of dormer (vertically, i.e. 90 degree pitch) but the tile has no makers name on it.
If I can find out the maker I can check with them.

looks too thin to be a sandtoft, looks similar a redland Cambrian slate, but not as wide or a marley melbourn Any chance of a shot of the bottom edge.
Is it thin like a slate or thicker like a tile.
what are the dimensions

It looks like a 20/20 tile & Half but don't think it is... The back moulding is throwing me a bit here, I have seen it but cant be sure where.... Not a cambrian

Probably a Cassius interlocking Clay tile. Sandtoft..

It is very thick, like a tile.

Its about 300x400mm but I will measure later and post exact dimensions.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Cassius on the left, mine on the right.

It is very, very close and the measurements of 418 x 335 on the Cassius could be right (will check later).

Second thoughts cassius is smooth, yours appear to have a riven edge. maybe their Rivius slate is closer..

It appears the first Cassius I found was the NEW Cassius and mine looks identical to the original Cassius.
The original is slightly smaller at 405 x 330 mm, will check measurements tonight and that should confirm it.

Original Cassius on the left and mine on the right.

I think that judging by the top fixing arrangement you can be pretty sure it is a Sandtoft, I would concentrate your search there. My guess is it's a fore runner of the Rivius which isn't made anymore. You might be just as well contacting Wienerberger

I think you are right.

Here is a link to the old Rivius and the front of the tile looks identical.

Can't see any sizes to double check though.

I am waiting for Wienerberger to reply to my email/.

Thanks.

It turned out to be the original Rivius.
Sandtoft said it wasn't suitable for vertical hanging but their Humber in antique was and would be the same colour.

Only problem was we couldn't get any anywhere with less than two months lead time.

So we went for Redland plain tile in slate grey.
