As far as i know the static pressure will be the same, its only flow that will increase.

Your water supplier will come and test the mains if you give them a buzz.
Sounds like it could definitely do with a new main.

Well after a few weeks waiting and a lot of phone calls to Affinity Water, on the second visit from one of their engineers I got the mains pressure/flow readings from the mains in the street outside. Pressure is 2.5 and flow rate is 35 lpm. Inside the house the its just below 2.5 bar but only 15 lpm.

Does this mean that it's worth upgrading/replacing my supply pipe from the mains outside into the house in order to have either an unvented cylinder type system or even a high flow combi? Thanks chaps (and chapesses

Any idea of potential cost of new mains supply pipe, around 15 meters from main to existing incoming supply stopcock?

I was given a rough quote over the phone of around £600-£900 for about 6 meters of 25mm. This included connection to the main in the street.

I was worried it would be a bit spendy....feels like money that should go on the heating/hot water solution but I suppose it's like making sure you have good foundations before building a house?

Not had ours done yet, its an old 1/2" copper pipe by the look of it, maxes out at 14lpm. Going to see how the new shower via the combi does before spending on it.

Our thermostatic mixer shower has now decided to only run just above lukewarm...bit of a coincidence its happened just after the mains test ☹. Hot is perfect to all taps, losing the will now.

Update...new 22mm mains pipe fitted from edge of our property into house, flow is now noticeably better

. I'm now awaiting a quote for a new boiler and unvented cylinder solution, which I hope will allow 2 showers to run at the same time. Many thanks to dilalio of this forum. I'll keep popping updates on as it may help other users. I also want a water softener, Monarch seem to do a halfway reasonable high-flow version for around £500, anyone have any experience with either Monarch or other softeners combined with an unvented setup?
