Hi There,

The hinges have broken on my gas meter cupboard door. I have replaced these with suitable new ones.

However, there also appears to be something missing from the lock/latch mechanism as I'd ordered a replacement latch but it just falls through the hole as the hole is too big, as though something else is missing.

I have uploaded a photo of said hole and hope someone can help identify what may be missing.

Thanks in advance.

Rob.

Over the years I have purchased several complete electric/gas meter box doors from that company for renovation/refurbishment works.

Very helpful company :!:

Hi old and bold. Many thanks for your reply and I have also bookmarked that company for future reference.
However, on this occasion I have managed to fit a hole blanking plug into the existing lock hole and have drilled a smaller hole in this to accept the replacement latch that I had already purchased. It works a treat! :)
I only had the idea of using a hole blanking plug as a reducer today, but this may also be useful info for others too.
Saves a fortune on a new door! The other issue is that the hinges that were used on my door look totally different to the type used on the replacement doors I've seen, so identification has been an issue too.
Anyway, all sorted now!

Thanks again for your help!
Regards.
