Evening all,
After removing this breast will it leave a cut end truss behind? Chimney was added on as an add on after the house was built.
TIA.

should be a trimmer front and rear, lay boards for the back gutter too.

Ahh ok cheers, so basically they SHOULD of framed round it? What'd be the best way of repairing providing the trimmers are there? It was a bodge when it was built the whole thing is hardly tied in.

It should be a case of cutting back to the nearest nogg's or just removing any of the timber lead support trays that are not needed and filling in. Bear in mind that none of the overhanging barge material is particularly structural and a lot of it is supported by the gable masonry.
