I am just in the process of buying a load of insulation for my extension.

I was going to go to magnet as they were the cheapest, but ended up going to travis.

It seems ALL rigid insulation has its chemical components made in a factory in Germany and they had a massive fire there last year and so supply is being restricted this year.

This means prices are just going up and up. I am buying now because there is due another 17% increase in october.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have heard about a block shortage as well.

The cost is going to be £1480, which is £100 more than it would have cost in the spring. With magnet they are £200 up on their initial price of £1370. So a 14% jump in price at magnet, but i have managed to get the increase down to 7% with a little shopping around.

Found it cheapest online, £40 sheets were £27 for bulk purchase, [10+]

Not all raw material came from that BASF factory, but the biggest manufacturers all source from there, celetex, kingspan, ecotherm.

supply is restricted so Im often finding I cant 120mm, I end up having to get 60mm x 2 or 70 and 50 etc
