Worried son ate one of these berries, are they dangerous?

Not sure if he had one but had tongue out like he had tasted something and said tomato. Is it dangerous and what berries should we worry about with kids?

The point is if you don't know, and no-one knows enough on here to tell you not to worry, then you should get it checked out. Bottom line is if you do not know what they are then don't eat them.

It certainly looks like a skimmia japonica. Details including toxicity can be found here but as others have said I can't swear it is, so if at all concerned seek medical advice.

Well you've got a point Tiger, but having spoken to NHS direct myself, there are a lot more inteligent people on this site than that one.
 
Obviously would have done so if he got ill. It was more for general info on the subject.
