Hi,

We're having a problem with our Baxi 130HE combi boiler.
When igniting it makes one hell of a loud bang which in the confines of our driveway sounds like a firework going off.
It does ignite however and once lit it works fine, that is until the next time we need hot water, when it might happen again. I say 'might' because it is an intermittent fault, but is becoming more frequent.

Engineers from Baxi (we have a service policy with Domestic & General) have visited on 3 occasions and replaced various parts, the last one being a circuit board, but all have failed to resolve the situation, so I thought I'd ask around if anyone has experienced a similar problem and if so how it was fixed - assuming it was!

All information and advise would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Tony.

It could be alsorts on these. Seals, blockages... the list goes on

Well what parts were changed or should we guess as it would cut a lot of bullshyte ;)

If D&G are throwing parts at the boiler, then unless these parts are duff, they are struggling to know the cause. It is well known what is causing the explosive ignition on that boiler

not a hard problem to sort on these, as already said tell us what has been replaced for best advice

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies.

To be honest I don't know what parts have been changed. The engineer doesn't leave us any paperwork and since I'm at work it's my elderly father that deals with the visits.
I only know the last visit involved him replacing a circuit board because my father saw it.

I know this doesn't help to narrow down the cause one iota, but my initial post was basically an attempt to see if anyone else out there had had similar issues with this model of Baxi boiler, and if it's a common fault what's generally the cause.
I can then feed any information back to the engineer because based on previous attempts they seem to be at a loss to know what to try next!

Thanks again,
Tony.

IF you are calling an extended warranty through D&G and they are sending Baxi , it might be warranty agents, call D&G and get tight with them and tell them you demand a Baxi direct engineer and that you are fed up with the service you have received and you demand it to be sorted , they will get it done for you , it is an easy fix
