Separate oven and hob on one circuit?

Hi all,

I want to install a stand alone double oven and separate hob plate but I only have the one cooker circuit from my consumer unit that has until now just been feeding the hob. I had thought that I could put the two cables for the two appliances into the cooker isolating switch but the terminals are not really big enough for the two cables. Can anyone advise what the usual way of doing this is as it must be a common thing?

DEpends on the power required by each unit?
Electric forum would be best with more info.
Be prepared for lots of squabbling among those replying, seems electricians like an argument.

I agree that "arguing" is not the correct word, but to respond to a joke by taking an opportunity to implicitly expess your opinion that God does not exist is hardly 'normal behaviour'.

That is because normal behaviour is inadequate. I have higher standards than normal.

And please don't try to dismiss the principle of requiring evidence as "an opinion".
