Looks like this is going to really add a good space to the house

The existing foundation was I think strip & they dug deep
You’ve done same depth but a trench ( all fill ) , I’m thinking you’ve gone way deeper than needed but no harm done it’s a very thorough job , unless there’s something you know about your ground that we don’t?

Roof is now 99% done. Pain to try and fit in a couple of dry days! I never want to mix a batch of resin again.

New foundations went as deep as the existing house. 1.8m if I remember. Think the plot is on a slight slope and there are some large trees in the back garden which may have been the reason.

Impressive! Looking forward to more progress.

Did you have many tools already, or have you had to spend quite a bit on any special tools etc? I have found that, taking on D.I.Y projects the hidden cost is getting any tools required. Saying that, once you have them, you have them, but still it can add up. How has your budget been going? Are you way over, on target or under so far ?

When I get to roof stage I was thinking of the fibre glass stuff

Roof Lanterns finally in.

Guttering and the flashing for where the extension joins the house and the roof will be complete.

I'd say about £600 on tools, I already had a few bits. Budget is currently on track for the extension. Issue is as always once you start, it leads to other things...

Summerhouse in the garden 3K
New fence behind the summerhouse 1.5K
Gabion wall to increase the grass area using soil dug up from foundations 1.5K
New bathroom upstairs as we had to remove the old one to get access to install the beam 2.5K (bathroom was horrible anyway)

GRP/Fibreglass. A pain due to the up stands for the Lanterns. Although I think any roofing sytem would have been a pain with them. So far so good, but with any flat roof system only time will tell.

Rear doors are in! 1 side window to install and I think I'm water tight............. Wasn't going anywhere near these. supplied and FITTED!

What overall dimensions is the extension? I can’t see it on the thread but may have missed it?

Looks similar to ours which is not as far on as yours. Our is something like 4m x 8.5m and will have three sliding glass doors on it so not too dissimilar.

Finally got round to putting the fascia up after being lazy over Christmas. Roof has been signed off by building control. Next visit is completion.
