Hi, I’ve got a baxi 28he platinum in a rental property. Its got an old back rf timer/thermostat that not longer works correctly so the heating has a mind of its own. I’m looking to replace it with a hive (or similar) but I’m unsure if it’ll be compatible. Any suggestions or help would be good. I’m guessing it’s just a case of wiring the power through the controller part of the hive then into the boiler.

think its quite simple, my pal has just put one in his place, I'm going to get one for mine

any boiler that use's a standard thermostat is fine

he said it connects to power then just us the same 2 wires that go to old thermostat -connect those into the hive,
in your case you can simply swap back to old thermostat when you leave, hoping it is the thermostat that's not working right otherwise obviously problems will persist for you

it also has a lock code on and controllable from your phone, just what I need

Great, thought it was simple. The rental property is mine, I’m the landlord and I need to keep the tenants sweet so I’ll look at doing it. I’m guessing it’ll only need the single channel hive as it’s a combi so no need to turn the water on/off

no need to turn water off, just turn off electricity to boiler whilst you wire up, that all I expect to do

I'm letting the upstairs of my 3 storey home, will put one of these in the entrance, ideal with the lock code
