Hi

My Ravenheat is on its last legs and its looking like new boiler time for me. I have an average 3 bed semi. Has any one any ideas on the average costs of a straightforward boiler replacement? I have been given a price which i think is good, just wanted to get an idea of average costs? also, any one any thoughts on the boiler brand "Ideal"? Are these good boilers?

Many thanks

Luke

The Ideal Vogue is ok, the rest I personally wouldn't touch. Ravenheat use an odd pipe configuration though, so if you want a straight swap you'll need another Ravenheat, the rest will require additional work to alter the pipework. The HE98S is actually a decent boiler. Other than that, an Intergas ECO RF will do you nicely, but we can't see the job so it's impossible to give a guide price from the scant information you've given. Remember "cheap" is rarely "good"

Think our Worcester Bosch (sp?) combi was around 2k fitted.

The old boiler was in kitchen and emersion water heater in airing cupboard, tanks in loft.

They took it all out and fitted combi in airing cupboard, made a very nice neat job as well!.

I had quotes from 1.6k to 3.3k when I had mine replaced last year

Is it a simple combi-to-combi swap?

I had an old Biasi changed for an Intergas in 2013. Cost was something like 1100 for the boiler and 800 for labour.

Labour rates vary with location. Where are you?
