Valliant ecotec 837-hot water working but no central heating?! HELP please!

That’s a wireless receiver.

Your thermostat will be somewhere else in the property, normally a hallway.

Is there a woman in the house who can look for you? My wife always finds things that I swear were not there

Post back once she’s found it

By the way that’s a Honeywell BDR91 receiver.

Could you post a picture of your radiator valves?

ok so the lock shield valves are on the rads right? just checked one of them and it was off. i guess previous owners did this for a reason? i will go round and make sure they are all on.

The lockshields should not be wound fully open like bathtaps. They should be about half a turn away from fully closed.

If you have wound them all open, a couple of rads nearest the boiler will get very hot and the others will be cold.
