Repairing wall after removing tiles

Hello,

I've just removed some tiles in my kitchen. I aim to re-tile the same area once i've fitted the new kitchen. What is the best method to repair the wall ready for re-tiling? I've attached a picture, not all the plaster has come off the wall, it's just very patchy.

Make sure all the loose, proud, and flaky bits of plaster have been removed, especially around the edges. Give the area a good brush down to remove any dust, then give it a wet down with a brush or spray. Mix up a small amount of Bonding coat plaster, then brush some pva over the whole area. Fill out the deeper areas with Bonding plaster to flush them off, while the pva is still wet and tacky, then leave it to set. Once the Bonding has set, pva the whole area, then skim over the whole area with 2 coats of Multi finish. Make sure the pva is tacky when you plaster onto it. Also, make sure you feather away the plaster around the edges to avoid creating a "bump". It maybe a small job, but it'll take a bit of practice,, good luck anyway.

Many thanks for your reply. The depth of the broken off plaster is about 2-3mm. So just to clarify would I use the bonding plaster to completely level the missing parts of the plaster with the rest of the wall and then skim over the entire wall with the multi finish?

Spot on, yes, but don't forget to use the pva though, and plaster onto it while it's still wet/tacky.
