I'm hoping that someone will be able to point me in the right direction here as I'm stuck. I'm fairly up to speed with technology and IP addresses, etc. I have a few IP cameras that I set up myself and can view them remotely no trouble (port forwarding set up OK).

Comwifi module installed in the panel OK (external antenna). Connected to its wifi signal no problem and set up it's connection to my home wifi signal and stuck a static IP address in. Disconnected the comwifi, plugged it back in and it appears to be working. I can connected to the static IP through my home network and I get the black setup screen. It says comwifi is connected to my PlusNet router, signal is 94%, static IP is good.

I have set the panel up (through the keypad) with the IP address, port (10001), subnet mask and default gateway. I also set the Comport Setup to Com-IP Module.

I have set up my router to forward port 10001 to the mac address of the comwifi (which it can see).

The problem is now that I cannot get wintex to connect to the panel. I have had no problem in the past connecting to the panel using the USB lead. However, when I go to the "Edit Account" and enter the IP address and port, I cannot connect via network. I get the message "Connection with Control Panel could not be established - Please check settings and try again".

UDL password is good.

Any ideas what I can try next? Thanks!

Okay the comwifi has been discontinued as of this week.
If your on an elite version 4 I would opt for the smart com just because there is no port forwarding.

What panel including version? (Menu 4 on keypad)
What comport you using?

what programming have you done at the panel for the com wifi?

Thank you for the reply. I have a Premier 48 panel with software 9.x (that's what I use in Wintex with the USB cable).

The comwifi is plugged into the COM1 socket.

At the keypad I have done the following...

7 (UDL/Digi Options) ---> 7 (Setup Modules) ---> 2 (Setup IP Data)
I programmed in the IP address, Gateway IP and Subnet Mask (taking care to put the . in properly). I left the port at 10001.

I then did 8 (Comport Setup) from UDL/Digi Options menu and set it to "Com-IP module".

Cheers....

hmmm, well from what you have said it should be working.

go into setup modules and change the modem speed from 2400 to 19200 although I think it can go one higher. To be fair if its on com1 that shouldn't need changing for com 1.

in comport setup go to com1, press 0, press reset, when it settles what is the number bottom right (21 is what we want when its idle).

no arc programed?
