plasterboard raw plug dislogded

hi, I'm using 2 screw in metal raw plugs to hold my towel rail up.. unfortunetly, due to use, they have came loose from the wall and will no longer screw in as the plaster has came away from the hole.. is there anything I can put in these holes to firm and close up the holes so I can put the raw plugs back in securely?

Those things are pretty useless to be honest, best bet would be a toggle bolt

what about using Gripfill and putting the raw plug back in?

If it is plasterboard as I suspect no.
Best solution is to locate the studs and try to get a fix in them towel rails get a lot of strain in use those little plugs are not up to the job.

I cant move it as the room as just been decorated with wall paper.. I'd rather use the same hole.

Then toggle bolts are your best option in my opinion.

not sure the back plate of the towel rail has a 50mm hole though.. I'll need to check that.

You don't have to put the whole toggle through the towel rail hole. Remove the toggle from the screw put it through the hole in the rail, refit the toggle and push the whole thin to the wall ensuring the toggle goes through the hole. Sorted.

I meant the diameter as the toggle bolt (Screw) has to fit through the towel rail fitting

The only problem with GripIts is that the diameter of the hole required by the fixing can sometimes be greater than the width of the item that you want to fix to the wall. That is to say, you end up seeing the GripIt on you have put the item up on the wall.

Oh... and they ain't cheap.

Did you mean 5mm?

You can get different screw/bolt sizes and lengths with toggles so you might be able to find something that works. I appreciate the stand offs on the radiators can be quite long.

If you can't get some toggles with the right length bolt you might want to buy some fixings of the right size (eg M3 or M4 to fit the radiator) just for the toggles and then replace with long screws/bolts of the same size/thread pitch.
