Omega 5 - Sensor removal query

I have inherited an Omega 5 alarm. I have the key but I do not have the code or engineer code. It is not possible to obtain these.

My decorator needs to temporarily remove one sensor from the wall. I am worried it will trigger the tamper alarm and, having read the manual, the key will not be sufficient to disable the tamper alarm.

Long-term I would want to replace the alarm but I do not have time to consider this now.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The key is for the panic button, and you insert and turn it to reset it. I've no idea on the codes, but you could take the cover off, and then reset the alarm, and do the same when you replace it.

Some of the early castle omega control panels had a on board keypad as well as a key switch.
The key could also be a panic button key as said.
You can default the control panel but you will need to reprogram the whole system and not just the user code and engineer code
Post photo of control panel to be sure.
If it is a key switch then that will work the same as a code

Thanks very much everyone, yes sparkymarka, that is exactly what my alarm looks like.

The key turns the alarm on and off as far as I am aware - as per photo there are FULL, PARTIAL or OFF modes.

If the key acts the same as a code then the key should in theory disable the tamper alarm but the manual suggests only a 4-digit code will do:

Seems like I will just need to try it and cross my fingers!

I am pretty certain that you can clear a fault by using the key switch function.
Turn on to arm and the turn off that should clear fault.

Thanks handymanjo and everyone, I am pleased to report this worked fine.
