Dripping ABS (?) Shower bar - repair or replace?

I have a dripping shower bar that I think is a cheap ABS model (see photo, it was fitted new just before we bought the house 3 years ago, but I have no documentation for it.)

Are spare valve cartridges available for these and if so is it worth repairing or should I just replace the whole unit given that I can get one for £30?

Or maybe it's better to replace it with a better quality unit that has replaceable parts (it gets a lot of use!)?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Where is it dripping from, my daughter phoned yesterday to say her's was leaking, it was leaking from the temp selector, I turned off the water, released the pressure by the bath taps, prised out the end cap, under is a phillips screw, undo that pull off knob, un screw plastic bit but don't damage splines, if you have a spare cartridge just replace, if leaking at other end follow same, may be damaged washer, if so replace or wrap with ptfe.

I should have explained that it's dripping out of the hose, not the body or taps (sorry.)
I can't see (or feel) any screws (either phillips or allen) holding anything in place.

Do you mean water keeps coming out the hose when shower mixer valve is turned off ? If so fit a new valve. If hose drips when shower is on and running ,change the hose washers. Or new hose and washers

Water is dripping slowly out of the hose when the shower is off.

I know it's possible to replace valve cartridges, but a) I'm not 100% sure what make/model it is, so don't know what to order and b) if my assumption that it's an ABS is correct I don't seem to be able to find ABS spares and can buy a complete replacement for less than fifty quid, so I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle?

Was your daughters similar to this one? When you say "prised out the end cap" is that the grey bits on the ends? Do they come out complete with that (what looks like a) moulded bar?

For the price you can buy a new horizontal bar mixer for ,its hardly worth the effort to try to repair an old one. As long as your pipe centres are 150 mm apart ,and the threads are 3/4 bsp on your existing valve ,its a ten minute job to change ,and there's plenty on the market.

Thanks, Terry. That's kind of what I was thinking. Any recommendations for something that's going to last a little longer than the three years this one did, without costing an arm and a leg?

if the hose, rail and shower head are in good condition just buy a mixer valve.
Usually a few bristan bar shower mixer valves or full kits on ebayuk,no need to spend more than £85

As old & cold said above ,plenty around. Screfix do a Triton ,complete with riser rail / hose / shower head for around 70 quid ,or just a cheap bar mixer on its own less than that. If you get three years out of them for that kind of money its hardly expensive.
