Approach for blisters in ceiling

Ah sponge float and plazi is a good combo

For what situation Steve? I’ve only ever used the sponge to get me out of a problem like bubbles or skim too deep and wet near a bead, never been tempted to do a whole wall
Be interested in your experience of it tho as always learning

well try it for yourself lay on sponge up and use the plazi you will be amazed how good and easy it is, not sure if you do site work? but the sponge is used to save time and earn more money it can also get you out of tight spots it can also help control the walls with suction if you have a fast sucking wall

So is that

Lay on first coat
Flatten
Sponge
Plazi

Repeat for 2nd coat?
if your doing 2 coats dont sponge the first coat. with the plazi and sponge float you can lay on both coats out of the same mix and get lovely results or you can get good results with just 1 thick coat as long as the scrims are dubbed i dont want to get you into bad habits so stick to doing your 2 coats

well let me know how you get on and what your going to try you can also try flattening with the plazi i used to run along the wall with it to flatten in instead of up and down i done a video to show someone how i used to do it from about 5 years or more ago if your interested to see it but its nothing special it just shows how easy it is

Def would like to see the vid Steve, got a link?

well havent watched a plastering vid for ages so went over to see rwf to see what you have been watching he has a similar style to what i had start from the bottom ect but after flattening with the plazi i would go on to use the barton which saves time because you can put a finish on before it sets and leaves a better finish ill see if i can find the links i will pm you

used it (Ox sponge float had it for a while, dunno if they are meant to be any good) for the first time today on a tiny reskim panel at my place, not sure I got the timing of the sponge right, but looks decent and got it done in 1.5 hours (1 coat and went over it again with same mix, flattened with steel) then sponge, plazi
