hi:)

going to be installing a wired texecom system myself with any necessary support form a work colleague (who is a qualified spark and ex alarm installer). he hasn't installed alarms for a few years so isn't up to speed current systems etc. I want to do as much as i can without bothering him tbh if i can but good to know he's there should i get seriously stuck.

anyway, been doing some reading and have decided on texecom products. Thinking of the below components :-

Premier elite 24 or 48 control panel
x2 keypads
x6-8 Pet PIR (for x2 cats which are best?)
texecom ethernet module
x 2 external sounders
Battery
x2-3 smartkey (if can be used)

the house is in the middle of renovations so it is the ideal time to run wires etc so no worried there. the plan is to have the control panel in the garage (which is integral to the house) with a keypad.
then a second keypad next to the front door.
x1 sounders on each gable end and the pirs around the house at various locations.

does that sound like a viable system?
should i go for the 24 or 48 control panel in a 4 bedroom house?
could i add wireless PIR's down the line at a later date? (for planed sheds etc)
Can i use the smartkey fobs with the above wired system?
the garage has an electric door, can i use the above smartkey to control it and arm disarm the alarm?

any other advice welcome, many thaks for your time:)

You will need a wireless expander for the smart keys , plus don't buy ethernet mod ( com ip ) buy the smart comm

ok great many thanks for the reply.

wen't through where i want pirs etc today and have come up with the shopping list below

Would the above all work together and allow me to control the garage door via the smartkeys? and also allow me to monitor the alarm remotely?

I'll probably also be adding 4-5 wireless impaq sensors at a later date to the doors.

one pir will be going in the garage, but i'd also like a couple of sensors on the door, can you recommend anything that would be compatible with the kit above? as texecom don't seem to do anything specific??

thanks again for the help:)

Not a fan of the texecom pet tolerant detectors , would normally fit optex rx40 pt or Bosch pet tolerant depending on size of pet/pets , your going to need 6 core for the bell , so I would get 6 core cable or even 8
Surface contacts I would go for elmdene QST-RD ( resistors built in ) also why fit an elite diamond white keypad in a garage ? A standard prox would do

ok cool, i'll probably go with the bosch ones then as i like the look of the blue led and bosch is a brand i trust, can the blue leds be set to flash or stay permanently on when armed? so if someone looks in through the window they'll see the pir etc? also will get the 6 core wire.

still not sure whether the garage panel will be inside the house so may have it by the entry door flush mounted, if i go for the normal prox would this be suitable

ref the surface contacts are you saying use them for the garage door? at the min the door is only secured by the electric door mechanism, and the lower corners i suspect would move in strong wind etc. can they be set/adjusted to allow increased/decreased sensitivity?

i'm wanting to use the texecom wireless impaq sensors on doors as i don't really want to run wiring to those locations and it will make use of the wireless expander.

thanks again for the help much appreciated
