I've just taken my Magnaclean off to clean it and it won't sit back in the position it came from (flush with the valve assembly).
It's not leaking, but the brass showing is setting off my OCD...
Will it be OK?
Pushing it back doesn't do anything - it just reverts back to the position shown in the photo.
Thanks!

I would be a bit dubious about leaving it like that. Does the red wheel not send it home properly then? If not I would take it back off and see if you see any problem. If it’s all clean, try some silicone grease on the seals and reinstall. Good luck!

That's not right. It should sit flush, have you tried winding the red knob towards the filter? Why did you take it off anyway?

I took it off because there's not enough clearance to open it when left in situ.
Red knob has no effect as the filter is sitting so far out.

AIUI, the plastic bit is supposed to push up aganst the valves but the body of the filter itself doesn't.
You're supposed to wind the red knob up against the body of the filter.
Or something like that. I've never had to take mine off because I left enough space above it :)

Someone thought about the install then. It's not right and your OCD may get a little more, because basically it's hanging on by 2 o rings. It looks a mess, plus you've damned it by taking it out like you have.
