Can I replace O ring on Grundfos UPS2 15-50?

Hi, Could anyone tell me, if one is able to obtain a replacement o ring to go between the pump head and the body?

I've done a small amount of hunting online but no luck in finding a part no....

(I ask this because occasionally when in the process to diagnosing a blocked pump Id like to inspect the impellers, without having to worry about the seal leaking if I were to put the old head back on after cleaning, instead of replacing the head)

Simply Bearings <simplybearings.co.uk> stock O rings in a very wide range of diameters and cross-sections. I managed to fix a leaking water meter with one from them when I had had no joy from the manufacturer.

the seals are very reliable, I have changed countless Grundfoss pump heads and have never seen a seal leaking

ianmcd - would you be worried about the seal leaking if you were to put the old head back on with the old seal. I too have changed many heads over but in that case would always fit the replacement head with the new seal.

The scenario I had i mind:

Friday night job, Old Dorris's down the road heating pump has packed up. No spare on the van, I can remove pump head and give it a good clean out. Put old head back, heatings back on. Question is: Is it going to leak?

Not if you tighten it up tight. Be carefull doing it in a combi with plastic body as they warp.

removed and replaced the same grundfoss pump heads on many boilers and never had a leak, Wilo however will be like the dancing fountains

Just make sure the old seal is in good condition and also clean. Mating surfaces clean too. Any leaks, use a smear of Fernox LSX or Blue Hylomar non-setting gasket compound.
