Rendered over flashing

Hello. I just had the back of my house rendered last week.

There was flaky old paint on the bricks so to save scraping it all off I had 20mm insulation boards fitted followed by an undercoat and then a white rendered finish (pictured)

There's a single story extension with a pitched slate roof which has lead flashing chopped into the brickwork, never had any problems.

The rendering guys put a white plastic bead over the top of that flashing and then rendered onto it so as far as I can see the render and the lead are not touching.

In the first picture with the drainpipe you can see how dark the wall is in the corner, that's just a sand and cement mixture I had put on a few years ago which will now be coming off anyway. The other pictures show how the lead flashing, the plastic bead and the guttering all interact (or don't, as that is the issue!)

I couldn't get my phone in to picture it but it looks like the lead hasn't been moved at all, it disappears behind the plastic bead and I suppose rainwater disappears with it as it did last night.

Copied from the plastering forum, might be more relevant here. Thanks.

That corner is dark because it's damp, the flashing, plastic bead and tiles are not working together to funnel rainwater into the guttering.

So I'm wondering what is wrong and needs to change? I'm worried about water getting behind the new white render.

The soaker isn't directing the water into the gutter as it was intended. Clearly it has been bent down out of the way of the render.
You need to remove a little render bend back the soaker so it hangs over the gutter as it should. You might have to insert another soaker to give more length.

He's done a fix today, it's the black tape (like lead) stuck over the top of the tiles and sealed with the white silicone on the join between the tape and the flashing.

There is a lead soaker under all this but I can't see how it would've stopped water getting into the side of the new rendering.

Thoughts?IMG_20180328_141912.jpg IMG_20180328_141959.jpg IMG_20180328_142022.jpg

The silicone wont do anything. Water will run from soaker to soaker from the top.
the original soaker should have been dressed into the gutter and not bent out of the way of the render.
the black tape is flashband. imho this is destined to fail

I don't like the look of it either, I don't trust him to put it right though I'll get a roofer to do it.

Thanks.

Wonder if he will pay for the roofer? That will be an interesting conversation.

I still owe him £650 for some other work so there's some leverage, not my job to fix his mess.

He has done his render therefore the money is his.
Unfortunately there is a glitch that is very simple to correct. He may have a roofer contact to help out.

have a look on youtube mate .search for kick out or diverter flashing. thats the kind of thing you need to divert the run off water into the gutter.
and as someone already said, you might need a much bigger last soaker.
