To save drilling some porcelain floor tiles?

Would it do the trick or does it need the mechanical fixing too?

Thanks.

If the person is of the "larger" persuasion then it's not advisable long term Ian, even then if the footprint of the pan is of the smaller type then it can let go after time with anyone on it. Had to reseat a few toilets that were just siliconed down.

That being said, the silicone type wet adhesive's are better, if everything is brand new and shiny but I would still drill the tiles and use a fitting kit. Use the Arrow head TCT bits, nice new ones and use water to keep it cool and you'll be through them in no time.

Ours isn't fixed down at all at the moment, just don't swing on it!
I think it depends how far away the loo roll holder is, you don't want it to come away just when you're planning to wipe.

Someone tried that with our work toilet, didn't last long..

You need mechanical fixings, so you'll need a diamond drill from the likes of 365drills, and you'll then need to silicone base of the pan afterwards to stop water getting under it.

Ok thanks, I'll get a drill for them. I did get a 20mm core bit looking one which was great on the tiles but then a 6mm one the same was ****e.

I'll try the Arrow head type (y)

Are 365drills still going, the owner was sent down last year.

Ian,not surprised you were thinking of silicone

Drilling porcelain floor tiles is a pain, have used marcrist pg750x bit's ,the bits that need to be started at an angle then vertically they work but still slow.

Keep the bit water cooled after the initial angle start, happy drilling :D

If the pan has holes in the side so the screws are horizontal going into the L bracket then 2 pieces of 2x3" stuck to the floor is easier
Set the wood up as near to the inside edge of the pan as you can and it won`t go anywhere.

Silicone the toilet in place then squirt some foam filler into the screw holes and cover with tape until set. Normally do this when there is under floor heating.

IT WILL NEVER MOVE!
