Complaining about loss of freedom of movement doesn't make any sense if you wanted to move abroad for a better life you wouldn't choose continental Europe as a place to stay countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or the Arabian gulf (eg Saudi Arabia) would be far more sensible choices. If for whatever reason you could not move to such countries you would probably be better remaining in the UK.

It's just poncy middle-class parents worrying about not being able to send their precious offspring on the Erasmus programme.
English-speaking countries are a far more logical choice.

sweet that tony has heard of Erasmus, even though he is opposed to learning and to international co-operation.

I'll guess you have never had the opportunity to work in other countries, nor to work with colleagues from other countries.

Sad that your life has been somewhat limited in those respects.

Now the Quitters are seeking to limit the lives of others as well.

Thanks for raising that point. It's useful to keep the young citizens of this country mindful of the damage that Quitters are doing.

Actually I have lived in a few different countries throughout my life mainly because of family from and/or living there. You are missing the point I said if you were immigrating for a better life it is doubtful continental Europe would be on your list of places to stay.

EDIT: I am 24 which is probably considered young by most people's standards.

Are you telling me that the Quitters have dropped their pig-headed opposition to Freedom of Movement? That would be great news, if it was true.

Alas, it isn't.

The UK will still continue to have diplomatic relations with EU countries just as it has diplomatic relations with non-EU countries today. We are not going to isolate ourselves from the world and pretend continental Europe doesn't exist.

Well that is not what JD believes . He takes a some what Grimm view & believes that u will no longer be able to travel to any EU country ???

That will be the Spanish economy down the toilet then :)

I see you have just entered Scotland.

Your OP isn't very clear.
Are you arguing for or against Brexit or pointing out that people will still be able to travel?

I'm personally all for brexit and the UK leaving the EU.

My OP was related to the loss of freedom of movement when the UK leaves. If someone was wanting to move abroad for a better quality of life it is more likely they would chose countries like the US, Canada, Australia, Saudi, New Zealand etc than a EU country.

Also for independence for Scotland?

Heaven forbid we all get along with each other.

I don't know if you are aware that there may be freedom of movement, but there is no right to stay unless you get a job or can support yourself.
That Britain does not enforce these rules is not the fault of the E.U.

Well, some might disagree as you might have noticed.

I find your inclusion of Saudi intriguing; I can think of few places worse I would like to visit, let alone live.
Other than that, all ENGLISH speaking countries; why would that be - for a Scot?

New Zealand would be my choice of those. The U.S. is mad, Canada is cold, Australia - mmmm second choice.

with respect its far more complicated than that
your financial situation you personal training and ability
your asparations personal situation along with the areas off the world your situation allows you to work in including where you can get a visa to live or work dictates your choices rather than the "best place to try"
