Speed Camera Detectors

The problem is that the rule of thumb, (10% plus 2 miles) isn't set in law, so it's used at their discretion. Commissioner Bagham wants the unwritten rule to be ignored, and the limit enforced draconianly, and that'll just alienate drivers, and very likely cause more crashes where drivers are concentrating on their speedo rather than the road.

Yeah, absolutely so I'm still very cautious. I think that's a good point too. Often see people wallop the brakes on when they've just spotted a camera.

prosecution threshold is 10% + 2, but you will get speed awareness course offer up to 10% + 9mph

One eye on the speedo and one eye scanning the road for potholes. I'm going to need more eyes!
Yes. You have to be pretty nifty with the steering wheel round here. Most of the roads require you to drive down a slalom course. Your really need to watch the road closely, and damn the speedo!

One day I'm sure ill be pulled over and breathalysed with all the swerving around I do when driving.
I'm sure it must be a speed reduction method, just leave holes there to slow us down.

Any satnav which can use the PocketGPSWorld database to provide warnings (Garmin, TomTom etc) or their own alert app for smartphones. £20 p.a. for the database (unless you report a new camera to them in which case they'll give you a free year next time).
