So the latest wheeze from government is to suggest raising more tax income from the older members of our country.

Sounds good to me.

After all, by disproportionately voting to leave, the older generation decided to shaft the younger generation who voted to remain.

Thus the coffin dodgers are the ones who should pay the immediate price of their decision!

And maybe there should be a 'brexit box' in your tax return?
Voted leave? - that'll be another 10% !

they should raise more tax

by putting road tax on push bikes ,the head down bum up brigade who cause chaos on the road's

raise tax by taxing any one towing a caravan , causing chaos and hold ups

tax any one riding a horse on the public high way , causing chaos and holding up traffic

Anyone shopping in a super market late at night in there jarmers or slippers should be taxed

Sorted :)

The reason the "youngsters" didn't vote to stay in the EU is because they couldn't be bothered to take their stupid faces out of their Candy Crush phones and get off their fat arses to vote.
I suggest you look at the actual voting statistics of the various age demographics...

the last thing needed is some new scheme that overheats the housing market any more and with the possible benefits for a few at the cost off everyone else trying to get on the housing ladder having to pay more

This is correct. The housing market needs to be sensibly deflated without bankrupting a huge amount of folk. That's not an easy task.

If the £10k went on a house deposit, the seller would just put the price up by £10k; and the banks would like it because the increased deposit would reduce their risk. The government don't seem to accept the fact that the only way to make housing more affordable is to build more - many more, and on the green belt if need be.

Given that the 'mods' seem to be having fun editing posts, can we assume that 'prat' actually means 'plumbers really are ****s'?

assume nothing ;)

afaik wannabediyer is not a plumber

Maybe, but what about starting with properties left empty when bought for investment only... that cannot be right. a property is somewhere for someone to live not an investment.

Maybe if the government got their act together and deported the millions of illegal immigrants the house prices and rent paid prices would crash! Also if we were to stop giving billions away to foreign aid and lining the pockets of the Eurofatcrats we might have a bit more money ourselves.

most illegal immigrants will be in detention centers or often in places like old prisons or condemned housing with very very few in housing that can be considered as desirable to any extent

Are you suggesting that "if the young had voted" the result would have been to remain in the EU?

Thanks for that insight.
