Cooker hob wiring is it ok ?

Hi, im fitting new kitchen units but keeping my electric oven and ceramic hob.
On taking them out i can see 6mm t n e surface clipped coming from the ccu above, it goes straight into the hob connection , but then the oven flex is in there aswell ! Is that OK ? It looks dodgy to me, i thought they should be on a dual connection plate ?

Thats what i found, both connected into existing hob connection.
 
Yes , 45a cooker switch with single socket just left of the hob above the worktop.
32a mcb at the consumer unit.
Marked up as cooker.
 
It's difficult to tell what size the black flex is, but it should have a suitable means of protection of it's own if it is the usual appliance size cable that may have come with the oven. If it is 6mm the same as the one going into the hob then you are OK apart from the fact that it could do with some sort of mechanical support rather than just hanging from the hob. You could fit a cooker connection unit if you want to, which would make a better job of it, but that again depends on the flex size.
 
The two appliances together are just under the limit for the 32A MCB. So it’s ok. Ideally the oven should go back to the cooker switch as there is additional load going through the hob that it might not be designed for. Having said that. the chances of everything being on at the same time is low.

Btw there are others on the forum better qualified to comment than me. try posting in electrics sub forum

There will not be any additional load on the hob as the oven will just be connected to the same terminals as the supply lead. There is no real reason it needs to be connected direct to the cooker switch, especially if it is not capable of carrying the same load as the 6mm, in which case it needs to have it's own protection rated at the current carrying capacity of the black flex. We really need to know what size cable it is. Can you see any numerals/letters on the outer black sheath running the length of the cable?
 
No there's nothing on the flex its just black and shiny looking but it feels different to normal flex so it could be that proper heat resistant cable.
Perhaps I should put a click 45a dual appliance outlet plate in. And two 4mm heat resistant to cooker and hob.
That's got to be better than leaving it as it is surely. ?
