Hi everyone,

I have recently updated my GX remote app which is connected and working on my galaxy flex 20 (v3.37). The new app provides push notification to the app but requires setting up in the panel. The user guide says:

Provide the generated Account Number and Destination IP to your installer for programming into your Galaxy panel

I can get these details from the app but I have no idea where you would enter them in the panel - anyone able to give me any guidance?

Many thanks
Tim

For anyone that is interested I have now managed to get this working. Happy to share with anyone who needs the steps.

Thanks

Interested in your experience with it after you've been running for a few weeks.

I've been testing to see how robust it is and have autotest enabled each hour. It does seem to miss the occasional event. Push notification is also a pain when there are several events and you lose visibility of them when you click to view. I don't think SelfMon has anything to worry about yet, as the service doesn't include DNS, Email, line path checking or other messaging options.

One other annoying thing with the E080 modules is that you cannot disable the com error.

Hi

Where abouts do you program the IP address and account number in the Galaxy Dimension menu? I've tried them in both the alarm reporting menu and the alarm monitoring menu (56.4.02), and both just come up with com4 fault when testing......

App working fine as usual, just no luck getting these push notifications working!

This is from the setup manual...

Galaxy Dimension Panels

• 7 steps for panel programming of Push Notification in panel

  1. Select Format (Menu 56.4.02.1 = SIA Level 3) and Enable and Select Triggers *

Select the events which should be pushed to the Mobile devices

  2. Set up Server IP Address (Menu 56.4.02.2.1= 152.194.72.102)

  3. Set up Port (Menu 56.4.02.2.2 = 10000)

  4. Enter Account No (Menu 56.4.02.4 – generated by the App – enter 6 digits)

  5. Select Protocol (Menu 56.4.02.8 = TCP)

  6. Enable Encryption (Menu 56.4.09.1 = On)

Encryption is not mandatory but we recommended to enable it.

  7. Test Push Notification (Menu 56.4.05.Ent = Engineer Test)

Hi, I have just read this thread with great interest as I have the same problem. I have a galaxy flex 50; so my structure is different than the dimension. The installation manual that I have that matches my menu's is the galaxy flex v3, so I assume the same as tooltimes flex 20.

Tool time, can you please share if you think my menu structure would be the same as yours and if so how you did it; hence where I put the details supplied by the app?

Thanks

This is the extract from the manual for the flex panels, try this:

Galaxy Flex/Flex+ Panels

• 7 steps for panel programming of Push Notification in panel

1. Set up Server IP Address (Menu 56.1.1.1.4.1= 152.194.72.102 Port:10000)

2. Select Format (Menu 56.1.1.1.4.2 = SIA Level 3)

3. Enter Account No (Menu 56.1.2.1.1 – generated by the App – enter 6 digits)

4. Enable and Select Triggers (Menu 56.1.2.1.2) *
Select the events which should be pushed to the Mobile devices

5. Select Sequence (Menu 56.1.2.1.3)

6. Enable Encryption (Menu 56.3.3.5.1 = Enabled)
Encryption is not mandatory but we recommended to enable it.

7. Test Push Notification (Menu 56.7.1.Ent = Engineer Test )

Be careful and get the account number correct, as it's very easy to send events to someone else's account number. The system is very vulnerable, as the account numbers are sequentially allocated.

hi all,

I managed to get push notifications working but get an 'Autotest' message every thirty mins, been back in to the "test Push Notification' section (menu 56.7.1) but that just seems to send an instant test message. Any idea how to turn off the 30 mins test message?

running a Galaxy Flex 20 with MK8 keypad.

thanks :)

You need to disable auto test for your receiver. Something like 56.1.1.4.3 You may want to keep a semi-regular test enabled, as without this you have no way of knowing that the service is running and connection to your panel is healthy. This is where SelfMon has additional features to check that the path is up and running in the background, then only signal you if the panel misses a test signal. I suppose the GX app push notification is free though, so may be worth seeing how you get on.

Perfect thanks. Found the setting and amended to 6 hour .Now I know where it is I'll probably do once every 24

I've managed to sort the test notifications and I've enabled more or less everything for a push notification at the moment but I don't get told when the alarm has been set/unset, I know ideally I shouldn't need this but its comforting to know the kids have set the alarm properly when they go to school. I can see there is a "setting" option which is enabled. Any ideas anyone?

sorry to bug you (and sound dumb) but I'm really struggling to find these triggers and get the system to report on them. I sorted my auto test, at the moment every 6 hours but will enable the Intelligent test to see if that works.

I've gone through the whole communications menu and enabled all the triggers (56.1.2.1.2) but still can't see how to notify when setting/unsetting the alarm. I'd assumed it was 09 - Setting and 10 - REset/Cancel but these are enabled.

Sorry to sound like a dope and any help is most greatly appreciated!
