It might sound silly but just wanted to check before I go ahead and paint over this pebble dash.

It’s the loose white stones with white rendered behind. As soon as you look at it the white stones drop off.

The white render has become dirty and I want to freshen up the Front of the house by painting it.

I just wanted to check that I am not going to cause any problems with painting it. By trapping moisture if it’s designed to breath and not be painted

I have not come across this render before the only type I have seen is the grey render with shingle stones thrown into it.

I’ve attached some pictures so hope someone can confirm before I spend hours slapping maisonary paint on

I can't see a problem with trapping moisture but if the stones are really that loose, you may lose quite a few. The paint will however help to keep some of the stones in place.

I sprayed mine on ,added a large spoon of pva to each tin which helps glue all the loose stuff. Spraying does not disturb the stones and is very quick, did end of terr front, back and flank in one and half days.

It's standard pebbledash, formed by stones having been thrown at it, so they will be loose - spraying is the way to go.
