Vaillant ecotec 838 with Nest

Hi all,

Just wandering is the nest compatible with the vaillant ecotec 838 plus combi boiler?

And if so, does anyone have an appropriate link with how the wiring should be undertaken.

The boiler is a brand new install with no current thermostat installed.

Any help and advice would be largely appreciated.

Yes it's compatible. You need a Gas Safe Registered Engineer to install it as access to this boiler's electrical connections is via the room sealed chamber that should only be opened by a GSR

Excellent, for a second there I was worried as I had already purchased the nest without checking compatibility.

Would this be the wiring diagram I would use in conjunction with this particular boiler and are there any links to be removed??

Seems fairly straightforward to be honest.

Yes that's the correct diagram. Your Gas Safe Registered installer will know how to wire it up correctly inside the boiler - you're not going to get any advice on wiring this yourself unless you can show you're competent to carry out the 26.9 checks on completion I'm afraid (forum rules)

Wow, Then I doubt ill be receiving any further information with regards to wiring unfortunately, as I can provide proof of 26, but the 0.9 is probably gonna be the nail in the coffin

too many people over complicate the nest and other smart stats , at the end of the day it is simply a switch, a very complex one bit it is still a switch
