Hey all

I intend to swap out the existing QD PIR in the garage for a DT. Am I right in saying doing the above is the easiest way to do the swap?

I'm aware it can be done forcing the strobe 3 times.

Is it advisable to just leave the panel powered whilst I change the gubbins or do I need to power down fully?

Quite happy to do it live but will make sure no wires get shorted! Unsure if a full panel battery disconnect/power down performs a reset?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Flashing the strobe and engineer hold off are for disabling the external siren.

To swap a QD for DT you firstly need to put Panel into engineer mode, then swap over the sensor pcb. Can do live but don’t let the positive touch other wires. I usually snip off the bare positive. Rewire like for like then do a walk test. If you want to be safe just remove the aux power wires in the panel and downpower all the circuits.

Down powering panel is also a safe method but you will need to enable hold off mode to stop the siren ringing whist downpowred. All data remains saved whist downpowred.

Cheers mate! Will crack on with this tomorrow. Hopefully, no more false alarms. Didn't really research the correct PIR in the garage. My bad lesson learnt :D
