Condensation

We don't get much condensation either, and there are no drafts, open fires ...

maybe the modern way of insulating walls and putting venilation in where it is needed, rather than everywhere, is better.

Open fires may reduce mould but they won't do your lungs much good, even with cleanish fuels and a good chimney. And smokey smelly clothes? Plus, a huge waste of energy, all that hot air going up the chimney!

Dehumidifier in smallest room available, with clothes on drying rack. Set D' to turn off at chosen humidity level.
Desiccant type will increase temperature slightly and will work very well in low temperature areas.

The piv unit has been fitted, it is the type without heater element and literally cost pennies a day to run, because it is summer now the fan wiill stop and go into standbye mode and will start automatically when temperature in loft drops to a certain level, i dont expect it to be a magic wand but should help significantly in reducing the condensation in the house

how much did it cost? I have thought about similar myself.

And easy to install in loft? Does it come with everything you need?

While the electricity it consumes itself is minimal, the increase in central hearing costs when that is on will be significant.

Yeah just pick a cool day when working in loft lol, all instructions supplied with product including air trunking, cable ties, 230V - 24V transformer, 1 amp fused spur, diffuser that fits in ceiling and nylon cord with hook.
What i did was fit a J803 32A J/B into lighting circuit in loft and replaced supplied 1 amp spur with a GU5013 double pole switched fused connection unit 13A and GU9125 1 gang surface mounted box 25mm.you will probable need some cable to fit between J/B and the fused switch.
I cut hole in ceiling first to fit diffuser and i hung fan unit from rafters in loft with the supplied nylon cord as the unit only weighs 3.5 KG

Fair point we will see when the winter comes on, they do sell PIV units with 400W heaters in them to take the chill off the air, but because this is fitted in a property rented out i wanted to keep it simple as possible

I don't need one, but for ventilation I've considered a PIV blower through the loft ceiling. All the hottest air rises up to there, so I'd expect the cold air to mix with it as it pushes down into the house.

If I could contrive a way to make the displaced air exit at floor level on the ground floor, it would be venting out the coolest air.

This would not be so effective for removing water vapour though, since it is lighter than air and congregates at the highest point.
