Hello All,
I have searched this, but I can't get to the bottom of the problem.
The pressure is fine and there are no fault codes
CH works as normal, but when I turn on the hot tap it simply runs cold.
Even with the boiler firing the heating and running the tap there's not even a hint of warmth.
Could anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Firstly, I'll state I have little experience of these boilers, but I know they have a hot water pre-heat setting.
Try turning the pre-heat setting ON. Do you get a little hot water? If so it appears that the water flow detection (others may name this better) is not working. If still no hot water does the boiler react in any way when a tap is opened (indicator lamp?, flame symbol?, sound of fan running?)

Cycle the power to the boiler OFF, then ON.
Is there a period of about 15 seconds when whirring noises can be heard from the boiler? Without these noises I suspect the electric diverter valve actuator may have failed.

If the boiler doesn’t respond at all to your turning the hot tap on, most common fault is the flow turbine, called the Aqua Sensor. Basically a little water wheel that spins when the water flows through the boiler to the hot tap. The spinning of the turbine is detected by a sensor that tells the boiler to light.

Thanks for the helpful replies, much appreciated.
I'm not sure how to get at the s codes, could anyone advise on this?
There are no lights or symbols flashing when I turn the tap.
The aqua sensor looks favourite at the moment
Can the wheel be freed, or is it a new part?

Thanks again,
Paul

Hi,
There is no 'I' button, there are the two + two buttons and the reset. The bottom pair, marked + and - indicate a ladder when pressed at the same time. When I do this the CH kicks-in until I press top left button - back. When I press reset I get a one second whirring.
Thanks for helping.

Turn on a tap press the two top buttons at the same time and post back what s code is showing.

Took it out of summer mode, ch on and shows s04, nothing else when I scroll. Back to summer mode and s31, nothing when I scroll. Thanks

Hi,

Just S31, though the little parasol isn't out and I'd not set the ch to off.

Thanks again!

have you had any other plumbing work done, could the hot and cold pipes been crossed ?

Hi,
Thanks for the further comments. It does look as though it's the aqua sensor/flow turbine.
One final question, please, if it is the sensor wouldn't it give a fault code, or wouldn't it register a fault?
No other plumbing done.
Would this be the part I need?

VAI0020059717 Sensor VCW/VUW
Part Number : S016155
Cheers,
Paul
