They want to punish the British isles quite simply because of our effrontery in voting to leave. Norway and Switzerland manage quite well without being a member of the EU do they not ?

As usual you've got the wrong end of the stick.
The EU are simply sticking to their rules - it is the UK that is trying to cherry pick what we want!

And indeed Norway and Switzerland do quite well.
The former having the world's largest sovereign wealth fund because they saved their oil wealth, and they still have resources.
The latter having money to invest and the most competitive economy in the world.

So which of those 'assets' does the UK possess?

And the Swiss are not happy as they have to accept free movement in order to trade with the eu, and the Norwegians have to abide by eu rules but have no ability to set or alter them.

We started this and the EU are not making it difficult, just sticking to there rules.

A topic where myself and G.Ban agree 100%...wow!.Of course they will punish us as much as possible so no one else leaves..common sense...other opinions are available but wrong.

Suppose Japan is now subject to freedom of movement now too?

Your statement says it all really.

But any subject that you 2 agree in will not be based on facts. I think that has been proven on here.

You've obviously believed Barniers claptrap ...........I don't need to say more

I don't understand why anybody thought negotiations would be so difficult !

Was it because the brexit leaders told us it would be easy ?

And the Norwegians have to abide by eu rules but have no ability to set or alter them.

And the Norwegians have to Pay to trade and accept the 4 'freedoms'. That is why they looked on the UK enviously - whilst we paid in (and thank's to Maggies hard won discount, not as much as some), we sat at the table and could influence the rules - maybe not as well as we should or could have.

I expect we will end up like the Norwegians, paying in what we pay now, still following the 'rules' and still putting up with (accepting) the 4 freedoms.

Nope, just aware of the rules...
Rules that the UK helped to write and which we signed up to!
But anyway, I thought quitters knew exactly what they were voting for?
