Consumer unit - Start over again?

You have plenty of spare capacity.
For instance, there are two (B16) radials "socket below" and "loft radial"
They could be combined to free one slot, or they could be made into spurs from ring finals, so that would give you 2 spare, plus the hole that should have a blank, plus the B6 on the left that is marked as spare.

Think that's actually 1.5mm on the 32A. For the lights on the ground floor. Think I'll change that!
Yes, move the cable to the spare B6, or swop the B32 for the spare B6 MCB.

Thanks All. Great advice as always.

Lighting circuit moved to the 6A MCB. After taking all the points on board have decided to replace with a new CU. Main switch and RCBO's.

New CU. Forgot to provide photos.

Nice neat work as usual Benway.

Although, is the earth wire in terminal 6 in ok?

And have you used a grommet where the tails enter?

A massive improvement, well done.

I know Electrium supply them for their busbars. Not sure about Contactum.

Shouldn't there be some form of protection over the two unused 'live' busbar connections
Not compulsory as the main switch should always be off if the front cover is removed.
Still a good idea to fit them though, as what should happen and what actually does are usually very different things.

I remember once upon a time how you couldn't take the cover off unless the main switch was off.

Indeed - but I don't recall any which had a means of preventing one switching it back on after the cover had been removed/opened (and can't see that such a system would be usable).
