Best/Suggested fixings for steel plate/post to concrete footings ?

Hi All,

Looking to fit a new hardwood driveway gate to be hung off a new stone pillar - yet to be finished but new walling in progress.

Going to add add strength to pillar by putting a steel box section post on a plate and fix to footings and building pillar around and fill cavity.

Any suggestion as to best fixings for the plate to concrete footing – self tapping concrete bolts, anchor sleeve/through bolts or something else ?

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

M8 X 100 expansive bolts.

are the footings already poured? A cast-in fixing will be stronger than any bolts.

Yep, unfortunately they are John.

I wish it had come into mind before it was poured !

Core drill a hole in the footing and cement in a scaffolding bar, stood up.
