We have bought large grey tiles for the main part of our bathroom which are going to be laid one above the other and not brick effect.

However we’ve also bought brick effect mosaic tiles for a feature half way up the bath vertically.

As the mosaic tiles are brick effect, on the sheet every other mosaic tile sticks out so there’s not a flat edge.

Can every other small mosaic tile be cut so there’s a flat edge, so it’ll be flat against the main tiles? Our plumber doesn’t seem to think it’ll look ok.

The other option is to rotate the sheet 90 degrees and have the cut edges at the top and bottom.

What would you usually do?

Thanks in advance.

all tiles includin mosaic tiles can be cut - on a saw is best but scribe an snap or nibbled away will also work.

So the actual tile can be cut. I know the netting can be cut but the tile itself?
Would a cut tile against a neat uncut tile look bad?

you attempt to set out before any fixin so that you have cuts of over half a tile - large tile or mosaic tile.dont end up with slivers or unbalanced cuts.
use a rubbin stone to smooth all cut edges.

If you are cutting the "brick pattern" tiles in half, remove them and use a saw.
Possibly replace the cut side into the mosaic, if it looks better

Maybe a dividing trim if the main tiles have rectified edges? A box trim of the right thickness would cup over the trim just enough to bury a dodgy cut.
