Johnson & Starley B23 warm air system. On firing up B23 for the first time this season, all worked OK, but when the burner went off the fan just kept running. Having tried over the last few days switching the power off the fan stops, when switching the power on the fan keeps running. Any ideas please.

Most likely the summer air circulation switch is "on" and needs to be switched "off" - it's on the right hand side of the control panel.

If no result then the fan controller needs to be checked by a qualified skilled gas safe RGI as there are several important safety requirements to be observed with this FWA heater.

Make sure you get someone who has the warm air category qualification with Gas Safe, and they are experienced with these types of systems.

sounds like your fan control settings are out, your unit is very simple and once the burner shuts down the fan will run untill the heat exchanger cools, if the settings are out the fan will keep running, worth calling J&S they are usually very helpfull

Yes thank for that, I have a warm air engineer coming to look at it.

In ye olden dayes warm air units had a timer device to keep the fan running to cool the heat exchanger when the unit was switched out. Later I think they used a stat in the heat exchanger. Either way this device may be faulty.
