I installed a Pyronix Enforcer Kit 3 in January this year. Been a great system but over the last few weeks I am getting false alarms - usually at around 3am!! - with a notification via the HomeControl+ app of 'Device 0 : Wiring Fault'.

Given that everything is wireless the only wiring is between the various boards on the control panel and the control panel to the 240v mains.

Can anybody advise what 'Device 0' refers to please? I guess it could be one of the PIR's or the wireless siren triggering it but to establish this I need to know what Device 0 is.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. I have done this twice (fuse out of spur, go into engineer mode, front panel off, remove battery, leave for at least 24 hours, re-assemble & power up) but the same issue returns - and always in the middle of the night. I have turned off the external siren so just the internal one sounds such as not to upset the neighbours further. I would try a factory restore and set-up from scratch if I thought it would resolve the issue but not sure it would.

I think it may be the onboard keypad which starts at device 00 further keypads are addressed as 01, 02 & so on. A way to prove it is to go into Assign Keypads/readers and give a name to device 0 (onboard keypad) give it a name and if that name pops up along with the usual fault then you can be cirtain it’s the onboard keypad and you will need a new panel.

Update on this issue as fault has just occurred again! The control panel error is 'Device 0 485 Fail' and the Tamper LED is lit. Could this be a tamper switch failure as mentioned on other threads? Or could it be a faulty tamper switch on the external siren? Device 0 would indicate that it is the internal tamper switch in my opinion. Any thoughts?

It’s the data (RS485) to the front keypad, this is all pointing to a faulty control panel.

Case Tamper would display “Case Tamper 100”

Siren Tamper would display “SAB Tamper 100”

Thanks Alarm Engineer - I have given the onboard keyboard an appropriate  name so will await the next fault occurrence and see if it indicates what you suggest.

If I buy another control panel (the same) can I just use the front part and connect up to what is already in the back half? Obviously the system name will change and I will have to re-commission from scratch but would like to re-use the back box & electrics if possible.

Yes ....it should have two year warranty ... look inside at the back of the panel for warranty end date

Quality Control date on the back of panel is 13 December 2017 so do I have 2 years from then? It must be at least a year regardless. If so will Pyronix, as the manufacturer, swap it for me as it is faulty? I do not think the eBay supplier I purchased it from is still trading.
