Vokera Linea 28 Combi boiler issue

stop constantly putting x800 in your system it will kill your pump
lol Ian it has only been used once and properly flushed out. An inhibiter has always been added after any work carried out.

When you say properly flushed out, how was the system flushed out?

From top to bottom and radiators removed and flushed out again. The system has been drained and re-filled a few times since then with primary circuit to boiler being emptied too.

just another update on my boiler situation...

-undid valves re feed and return..all clear and the pipes same in removing DHE again to check

What I have noticed is the motorised valve when attached sits loose like and wondering if that would affect the pin?

Any other advice welcome as stumped on how to get central heating to work as good as hot water apart from getting new boiler...

Loose in what sense exactly?

Mine does rotate somewhat; I think that’s normal.

yes does rotate although seems to hang..thinking of replacing it...as radiators still not hot

dont just replace it, remove it, its only a clip that holds it in, you will see the little brass pin once removed, run a hot tap and using a small screw driver then you shouldnt be able to push that pin in, turn the tap off and turn the CH on and then you should be able to push that pin in, if this is the case there is nothing wrong with the actuator head, you can always rotate them that is normal

Thanks. Just so I understand. With boiler switched on and turned to hot water. Remove the clip that holds it in place. Then run hot tap. Push pun in. Turn off tap. Turn dial to hw/radiators. Push the pin in. It still works. I will do it now. Thanks.

New to this, looking for some advice...

Combi boiler radiators (7 in total, upstairs/downstairs house) were not heating up some not at all. System always topped up with "inhibiter". Hot water great. So

- all radiators removed and flushed clean. (Some black water, to grey to clear)
- pipework at each radiator point the same. (same)
- new lock shield valves and tvr's fitted where need be.
- New Grundfos Pump head fitted.
- Domestic Heat Exchanger removed and cleaned with Sentinel 800.
- Auto Air vent cleaned as it had white deposits at the vent.
- Additional Sentinel 800 added to system. System flushed and drained again.
- Re-filled downstairs first then upstairs. Inhibiter added. Radiators bled of air. same with Pump. Refilled to 1.3 pressure. Before system switched back on.
- Boiler holds its pressure at 1.3. Bypass gate valve very slightly open. Feed pipe gets very hot and return pipe gets hot however clear difference in temperature to feed pipe.
- Thermostat works in that the gas burner engages when turned up, same for hot water.
- Main burner looks clean when fired up.

However only one radiator closes to boiler upstairs goes to temperature and a little in the next one in the upstairs hall..the other 5 nothing. LSV set at half up stairs and one downstairs. Radiators bled again till water drips out. When heating on I still get hot water. I have left the boiler on timer and the pump at setting 2 to see if this make a difference so far no change.

I have had a professional look at this and was not impressed with bill and he only changed the filling loop tap as he advised had a leak. He advised none of the above though stated pump perhaps needed replacing. The boiler is over 8 years old however would like to repair than replace if possible.

Any advice most welcome. Thanks.

Further update...

My combi boiler saga continues...kept the system running trying isolating one rad at a time...which was great in that this one would work. At times receiving fault code 02. Reset would work. However we want them all to work and cant afford to fit a new system. Still get great hot water on demand. Boiler still retains it pressure no leaks. Timer works.

So started again and replaced the domestic heat ex-changer unit, fitted a 22mm Adey Magna Clean filter to return pipe, minus the internal sleeve, loaded it with inhibiter. Re-filled system downstairs first then upstairs etc..bleed rads individually. Hoped this would resolve the cold radiator problems and it didnt.

Totally stumped. Thinking might as well fit a new motorised divertor valve while I am at it..

Thanks, fitted a replacement pump at the start although I am thinking it maybe is at fault..perhaps all along though it was new...

Get Vokera in for a fixed price repair or get someone that knows your boiler, you obviously havent a clue, post where you live and someone might be kind enough to offer their services

Further update. Left the system as it was heating one radiator now great output..very little magnatite on filter which is good news, so isolated each one individually and each one works ie whole radiator is hot, including the downstairs that was cold I suppose having some patience would be a good thing.

Any tips on the best way to balance radiators would be welcome. Thanks
