Hi,

Apologies for the newbie question, but I have a query about a replacement shower hose I'm in the process of sorting out.

A quick look on Amazon suggests that there is a standard hose type, with standard connections at each end, which seem to fit most showers. However, the hose I'm replacing (see photo) seems to be a bit different. The shower itself is fitted in a wet room and the 25mm end connects to an outlet in the wall.

I've managed to track down hoses that seem to match mine, but just wondered if I was being a bit dim and missing something obvious? The showers are only around 7 years old, so I'm just a bit surprised that it's not the standard type.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris you are measuring and comparing two different things. On the left hand you are measuring thread diameter, on the right you are measuring the nut size, across flats to be precise. If you look under nut you will find same 15mm male thread.

No he won't !!

Chris ,your hose is not a standard shower hose. A standard hose would have a half inch bsp female thread at both ends. Your hose has probably been made by the shower manufacturer ,likely bespoke.if you wish to replace the shower head and hose there is a good chance that you will be able to ,if the thread on the wall outlet is 1/2 inch bsp.

Thanks,

Just Google or Amazon for shower hose with male end. Plenty of options on there.

terryplumb is quite correct, was getting late. My excuse anyway

Hi,

Thanks for the responses. The wall outlet looks to be 1/2 inch bsp so at least I'll be able to get a new one if required.

Every day's a school day!

Thanks,

Chris.

Looks to me like a standard shower hose will fit the wall end, worst case scenario, you'll need to change the shower head too, so a standard hose will suffice.

Do you know the make of wall outlet? Likely the same as the mixer.

I have an Aqualisa wall outlet that is a push-fit with O-rings. I think some others screw on to a fitting projecting through the wall. So you might be able to change it.
