Has anyone tried using screwbolts (Screwfix 6293P) into engineering bricks? I want to fit a bolt down post onto my wall which has blues as a solider course.

You might find they struggle.

Usually 6mm is recommended for the pilot hole, but you might need a 6.5mm.

Or go for expanding fittings intead, rawl plug or fischer plug.

I wanted to get away from an expanding fixing. Maybe i'll try resin and studding (until I see the cost).

Ive not fixed concrete screws into engineerings, but I know they wont go into hard stock bricks easily -the tolerance on the drill size is quite critical.

I do have a decent Dewalt impact driver. For some reason I didn't think of using it for this. I was going to use a socket wrench!

Just for future information. The concrete bolts worked fine in engineering bricks. Wasn't difficult at all when using an impact driver.
