Hi,
Moving on from my Enforcer issues, which are now solved thanks to this forum, I decided to check my Yale HSA6500 which I used on a garage I have to make sure the dial out worked. This garage is located not far from where I live so I needed a cheap and cheerful alarm that would ring me in the event of an intrusion.

I triggered the alarm, all the sirens went off, the panel showed the usual "ALARM ALARM ALARM ALARM " messages, but my phone and two other programmed into the device did not ring or inform me of an alarm activation.

So here is what I did to try and fix the issue...

1) Checked the signal strength, this came up as a 7, 9 being the best, so all good.
2) Reset the GSM from the menu and rechecked the signal strength, again a 7, so all good.
3) Re entered all the telephone numbers, two mobiles and one land line, triple checked they were correct, so all good.
4) Re-recorded my alarm message.
5) Did a test dial from the panel to my mobile and my mobile rang. When I answered the call I got the pre recorded message, so all good.
6) I then dialled into the panel from my mobile following the Yale procedure. I could set and unset the alarm etc. so again all good.
7) I then armed the system, waited maybe 10 seconds after the alarm had set, then activated the alarm by walking past a PIR. Then alarm went off, all the sirens went off, the panel showed the usual "ALARM ALARM ALARM ALARM " messages I waited at least 30 seconds before disarming the panel so to give it a chance to dial out, but my mobile phone and two other programmed telephones did not ring. And I have no idea why??
8) After resetting the alarm I looked at the triggering event, which was the PIR I walked past and scrolled down the panel menu to see what telephone numbers were dialled, and none had been. There was a message something like (I stupidly did not write it down) " Not contacted..."
9) I am using an EE 4G pay as you go SIM card.

thanks

Following on from this, changed to a 1pMobile Sim card which I am assured will operate under 2G.

Still no joy. The alarm will text me when arming/disarming and when I do a oice dialler test it will dial my number. However, when I activate the alarm it does not ring me. Has anyone any ideas or recommend a 2G Sim that they know works with these systems?

thanks in advance
Mark

I don't know the 6500,but IIRC the 6400 will not dial out if you have not recorded your outgoing messages, address etc. and set the phone no's

Have you listened to them OK?

Hi,
And thanks to all that replied.

Well the panel is now working and there was no fault, just me being stupid.

Basically after I triggered the alarm I was not waiting long enough for the dialler to dial out. The book says it rings after 15 seconds, however this time I waited around 30 seconds and as a result the panels dialler rang out to my phone. So a result.

To help others in this situation I can confirm 1pMobile PAYG SIM cards default to 2G and can be used in this model of alarm.

The interesting thing is I still get that message (I read it this time) that says "System not reached" not sure what this means, but hey ho, I'm happy.

Once again thanks for all the help, very much appreciated.

thanks
Mark

When there is a delay like that, put the panel well away from the entrance, concealed in a cupboard or something, to prevent an intruder interfering with it before the message is sent.

You can have a remote keypad close to the entrance to disarm it when you enter.

If it's like the 6400,once the panel has triggered the siren, smashing the panel will not stop it.

I wonder if it had difficulty connecting to the mobile network? Do you have a poor signal or a metal roof?
