Replace extractor fans with silent models

We have three extractor fans I wish to replace, preferably with silent models.

Two of the same model (GET GFAN4) are in an ensuite and main bathroom. One has stopped working altogether. These are wired to a switch next to the light switch and come on and off with this switch only. The light being on/off doesn’t affect them and they don’t continue after being switched off.

The third is in a downstairs toilet (EMMA EMCFTB?). It’s quite noisy. This also has its own switch next to the light switch, however this one only comes on if the light is on and continues to run for a few seconds even if both switches are turned off. This is more of a box unit compared to the other two.

I haven’t opened any of them up yet. I wanted to ask on here if anyone can recommend any silent models that would be an easy swap (and provide links)? I would also like to know if the bathroom and ensuite ones could be made to work with the light and run on a timer for a bit like the one in the toilet? I’m not sure if the wiring is already there but not being used and wondered how I could check?

Are these all a standard size? Would any of these fit?

What about the boxy EMMA one?

There is very little doubt that they are all 4inch/100mm nominal. But you need to take them off and measure the actual size of the duct in the wall (if any). The modern silent fans I've recently bought have bulges or ribs on the spigot and don't quite fit into a 100mm duct or piece of soil pipe. Which is very annoying.

No isolation switctes, all are just wired to a separate switch in the light switch. I have taken them off now. The 2 getfan4 are just simple live and neutral with no anti back draft. There is no external ducting behind, they just vent straight out to external wall vent. The boxy emma has a switched live. It has anti back draft (am not so sure why as downstairs?). It vents into ducting just over 10cm diam and fans exit duct max diam is about 9.7cm. I have no idea why it's a large box so would like to fit something flatter. Saying that there isn't too much room behind it as the ducting bends so it's replacement can't protrude much further.

I'm kind of moving away from the silent vent axia fans as many reviews slate them. To get decent extraction they need turning up so will be loud anyway. They also seem to fail and a be flimsily built.

I could do with a good extraction rate for the en-suite as it gets very steamy and has a bit of mold formation. A dB rating in the low 30s or even 20s would be nice but with smaller internal fans I believe quite/silent isn't really a possibility.

I've been looking at toolstation airvent fans and the stuff available from screwfix. Can anyone recommend something decent quality that isn't too noisy?

I don't have a fan in the bathroom. One is not necessary.

If you actually need one, there are more fundamental problems.

As it's already there and broken, rather than brick the hole up and plaster etc. I figured it would just be easier to replace it. It's not the bathroom that's the problem it's the ensuite. It's a small room and is over a garage, so gets cold. What would you suggest to fix the issue?

Can anyone tell me if a humidistat fan will work with permanent live and neutral only, so it can be left on but will just turn on/off automatically as required?

timer function will not work with 2 wires

You may find you want a switch with a light in, so you know if the fan is enabled.

I bought 3 fans from toolstation. The screw holes don't line up and the power cable enters at the opposite corner. I couldn't inspect them there (covers were attached) so only realized when I got home. The ensuite fan is installed against tiles so I'm not altering anything there. The duct downstairs is too short and curves too quickly for one to fit there, so that's going back.

I'm tempted to butcher the upstairs ones to make them fit, unless I can find models with flexible screw points like the old ones had. If I do this I will still have to install them upside down. The old ones just had a line running inwards from each corner (instead of a single hole) so the screws could be placed anywhere along it. Does anyone know of any similar models?

The red dot's are the screw holes and the red circle/cross is where the cable enters on the new fan. How do I put raw plugs next to raw plugs? For the tiles ensuite I'm not going to manage that.

I just modify the plastic fan to suit, assuming nothing in the way.
