is it actually getting warm? If it does not heat up, no drying will take place, it will not condense and no water will collect.

Do you get any error code?

It could be a simple case of heating element failure.

Thanks for reply. When u open door the clothes are warm but wet. And all the hot steam has steamed up viewing window and the windows in kitchen .

It hasn' come up any error codes

You just have to be methodical.

So if it gets warm, the water evaporates. And it is making it to the heat exchanger.

This would mean that either the heat exchanger has failed, or the pump to pump the water to the container.

But, I have just realised you said it is only 1 year old.

That should still be within most manufacturers warrantee window. Especially for a failure such as this.

However, rather than attempting repair ourself, I could contact Candy customer services asap.

Read up on your consumer rights.

While it has been longer than six months. I would not call a new machine lasting for only 1 year a satisfactory length of time.

There is another scenario....and that is that you are not used to a condenser/heatpump dryer.

They will never dry clothes on a 40min cycle.

Condenser/Heat Pump dryers often take twice as long as a standard vented dryer, but only use a third of the energy.

So, could it be your expectations of this type of dryer are not correct.

What happens when you put it on the longest - "super dry" setting.

It' just out with its warranty period of about 4 month. My stupid wife didn' bother registering the warranty for the 10 years parts

If you believe the fault was there originally, you may still have scope to complain. Read that consumer rights page. It may be worth putting together a polite but well crafted "complaint" to candy.

Explain that you have rarely used the machine. But now you have started, it is seemingly not performing as expected. Explain that you did not really realise it was a fault at first, due to the modern nature of the machine, and you have been told they take a long time to dry clothing. But it has become clear that this is not how it should be operating.

Quote your consumer rights if needs be..

Something like that....

If you can make them understand and believe the fault may have been there to begin with, you may still have a case.

Long shot maybe....but worth it..

I'l give it a try . Thanks . But if that fails then I will need to check it. If water ain't getting to the tank then could be pump . Many got fluff in it

Further question, you say "filters and condenser are always cleaned."

Are you sure you have not forgotten a filter? Unlikely but worth checking.

When you say "condenser is always cleaned", how do you do this? The condensers in Heat Pump machines are not removable. You can normally only see the front of it. It is often protected by a secondary filter.

If it is a removable condenser, it is just a condenser dryer.

This video seems pretty comprehensive for fault finding a heat pump dryer.

Different machine, but they will all be pretty similar internally.

The filters I have found are . The one in door . And one in front of condenser. It' black plastic with foam inside.
I them vacuumed the condenser and washed (insitu).

The door water container used to get lots of water . And emptied / cleaned after every cycle.

Then it stopped collecting water.

I watched that video. Guys good at his job.

Other than trying the warrantee route.

If you feel competent, following all the steps on that video is your best bet. That will allow you to hopefully isolate the issue.

The water pump test is a good one and looks easy enough, and so does feeling the compressor when the machine is active to see if it get's cold.

Personally this is why I feel the Heat Pump dryers are not worth the outlay at the moment. Higher up front cost, with a lot more to go wrong.

My 30 year old vented dryer is still doing it's job well. Not even replace the belt yet....

I wish I never got it. And at 3 hrs to dry clothes. Of u have 2 loads. That' 6 hrs. Compared to about 3 on a ordinary one .

A relative got rid of their top notch Miele, which they did not maintain ( I did a service post about it). They replaced it with a Hoover heat pump variety.

As you say, it takes twice as long. It should use 1/3 of the energy despite this.

However, they have it in a utility room and could not find an integrated one with a drain tube.

The tank for this one hooks onto the door with what feels like a very vulnerable brittle plastic hook. Furthemore they have no sink in the utility room so they have to trudge to the kitchen to empty it.

How long it lasts......I have no idea.

It does have enough toys to distract them for now. Such as Bluetooth connectivity. I once got caught emptying the filters (they had neglected to do so) as it sent a bloody text to my relative informing them.
