Not yet. I was going to use an old photo bucket account but it’s got loads of crap on it so i’ve got the Flickr app and trying with that by putting the image link onto the postcard icon on here

I'm losing the plot.

I thought this topic was about problems putting images into private messages, but now it seems to have morphed into one about problems inserting images into forum posts:

No, still on about messages. I can put a picture on the forum easily by pressing ‘upload a file’.

If I could get the postcard icon (next to the smily face) to work, then I could use that function on a message.

See my recent PM to you. That button works just fine.

I thought that your complaint was that you couldn't just copy & paste images into private messages.

But having seen your screenshots I know what the root of the problem is - you are using an inappropriate device.

FYI - this is a screenshot of most of my most recent message to you, and the way I got it into this post did not involve any uploading to an image hosting site, or any forum-based upload an image process, I simply put it into my copy buffer by using a screen-scraping tool (Wisdom-soft ScreenHunter, if anybody is interested), and hit CTRL-V to paste it in.

If I can use CTRL-C, or Edit -> Copy from a toolbar, or right-click -> Copy to get an image into the copy buffer I can then simply paste it into a forum post. That doesn't work with PMs, and that's what I mistakenly said did work via More Options.

After he posted some pictures I can see now that he is actually doing this on a mobile phone. (I don't think this was actually mentioned before).

As for the subset, not quite - there are lots of functions available in private conversations if you hit the "more options" button. Looks the same as what I'm looking at now after doing the same with this message - but then I'm on a PC so don't know what he is looking at on his phone.

It also transpires that when Ian wrote "If I could get the postcard icon (next to the smily face) to work, then I could use that function on a message" it was not because the button didn't work - it was working fine. The problem was that he wasn't putting an image URL in here

For the third time, when you send a PM you can copy an image into your copy buffer and paste it into the message?

also my ipad app for flikr doesnt have the same functionality as the online model i use on my laptop
i think if you use a phone or ipad its the fact that the tab feature on any browser makes posting BB codes much easier and practical
also i found i couldnt delete photos on the ipad
cheers
