Hi,
I came home the other night to leaky shower had been dripping on to one of the taps and splashing into the corner - resulting in small pool of water and wet crumbed sealant in corner (see picture) i have dried out and cant see any obvious damage under the bath of what i can see of plasterboard other than stuff that looks very old.
When removing sealant should i replace straight away or leave gap to dry out
Thanks

Can't see any crumbling sealant ? if replacing ensure its dry, hairdryer is a quick method.

Thanks, not sure yet till tomorrow, but bits do scrap off with some effort

Just re-seal it. Sticking any new silicone sealant over the existing stuff won't work well.

Strip all the existing silicone, clean with white spirits, dry and re-seal with an anti-mold sealant.

How long should you leave the water in the bath tub for?
What if you cant completely get off the residual stuff?

I had the job done until i can have the bathroom totally re-done
I've got these little flaps (where i'm guessing it was on the tape) stickingup (attached)
Whats the best way to get rid of them - stanley knife - will this damage the seal
thanks

Its a temp fix at the moment as the original warped
Its just got to hold at the moment - although it wont get much exposure
Am looking for a professional
Problem was there was not much room behind the tiles to work with
