TV Wall Bracket

Frame fixings are totally useless in thermalite block

Have you been unlucky in the past with poor quality frame fixings or an oversize drill bit maybe?? Frame fixings are completely fine in aerated block.

Fischer themselves make frame fixings. Their PDF(page 31) says that a single SXR10 frame fixing, 50mm drilling depth, into a 4N AAC block, will support 750N in shear or pull-out.

If I were putting even a very large TV onto aerated block walls, I'd be using ye olde "knock two red plugs down the same hole and screw a 2½ inch number 10 in there" method.

what about the rigifix?

They are extremely strong, but also need a 100mm drill depth! You might end up through the wall!!

If you want to go for really strong, for work I use Fischer UX10 (60mm drill depth) with an 8mm coach screw. Just one, in a cantilever load, in soft aerated block, I have hung my weight from to prove to a few people that they are that good.

4 of them on a flat(not cantilever extending arm type) TV bracket, so mainly shear load, I would happily put a 250kg TV on!!

Tried many types in thermolite block but all just pulled out with ease including those UX10's they are too soft and are easily destroyed with a screw. The plugs I linked too are the only type I have found to hold any weight to wall and even they fail when real heavy fixing is required, had to bolt right thru my 265mm blocks to hold roof support.

The

The ones in my picture above is 10X100 as well. I did mistakenly go though the thermalite on the only 1 hole I drilled.

My guess is that only 80mm into the brick is required(assuming its that thick) since the remaining 20mm will account for the thickness of the Void and Plasterboard

Thanks guys.

I received the rigifix over the weekend and mounted the tv bracket with 6 of them. Feels pretty solid on the wall, though decided not to hang off it since my bones are worth a lot more to me than the TV

Which type of fixing should I use on insulation (30mm) backed plasterboard that is fixed to dense concrete blocks?

I find that DryLine Pro fixings are very good for for “dot ‘n’ dab on all blocks / brick.

I use them for hanging TV’s, kitchen units, radiators etc.

I purchased this bracket guys and have some issues...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FJULVG2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My 65" samsung TV has a curved back (curves in at top). This means that when hung, the TV sticks out at the bottom (in at the top). Hope that makes sense...
Do I need some spacers at the top fixing of the TV bracket and can these be around 2-3cm deep?
Every bracket I have used came with a 20-30 spacers and screws for a variety of tv’s.

And add the spacers between the tv top and the part that bolts onto the vesa mount holes
Leave the part that lives on the wall flat on it
