Cold walls on timber framed Bay window

Hi. I have a 1950’s house which has a bay window front which has the upper part built in timber. The walls upstairs are freezing and a bit damp when the weather is cold. I am assuming this is an insulation problem.

The walls are rendered outside. How would i go about solving this issue? Any ideas?

is the roof flat or pitched?
is the elevation wall solid?

You would have to pull the plasterboard off and Celotex between the timbers then again over them.

The roof is flat and on the inside picture i have put some arrows where it gets cold damp. It isn't water penetration as it only happens when it's real cold and not when it rains.

i can see some cracks an discoloration in the upper bay render.
thers also some cracks in the main house render.

inside is interstin with that long multi-section rad that in theory should be givin off enough heat to keep back the condensation. thats if its in constant trickle heat?
do you get lots of night time condensation on the windows glass?
the corners you point outare classicplaces for condensation.

short answer is use more trickle heat an trickle ventilation if possible an wait an watch fo what happens.
long answer is as above said to open up all below the window boards, check for moisture penetration an then behind the plaster board insulate.
careful when reinstatin that you dont miss the rad stubs.
